2011 Trolley Run

Our first road race of the season and a pretty big one too. The 2011 Trolley Run has been going on for 23 years and brings in 10,000+ runners each year. It is known as the fastest and biggest 4 mile road race in the nation.

Start line of the 2009 Sabates Eye Centers Trolley Run.

We were actually late this morning for the race because we slept in, whooops. Not the way you want to start the 2011 road race season. We managed though and ended getting to the starting line with enough time left to get a decent warm-up in.

Amanda and I both felt we did well considering our lack of quality training over the past couple months. It was a ton of fun and a beautiful day for a race. Amanda finished 2nd in her division and 19th overall for women. I finished 11 in my division and 14th overall. Winning time for the race was 17:59.

A great start for 2011. We now have a good idea of where we are and where we need to be. We have a lot of work to do and a lot more exciting road races ahead of us this season.
